本日7/3（木）に諸田さんと武田くんからの発表で学生ゼミを開催しました。
内容はストラング『線形代数イントロダクション』の8章「応用」でした。工学的応用で現れる線形代数に焦点を当てて、弾性体・グラフ・線形計画・フーリエ級数・統計などと線形代数の関連について扱いました。
線形代数に止まらず、グラフや双対問題などについて議論できました。
次回は第9章「数値線形代数」について嶋野から発表します。
Today, Thursday, July 3, we held the student seminar with presentation by Morota-san and Takeda-kun.
The topic was Chapter 8, “Applications,” from Strang’s Introduction to Linear Algebra.
The focus was on how linear algebra appears in engineering applications, covering its connections with elasticity, graphs, linear programming, Fourier series, and statistics.
Our discussion extended beyond linear algebra to include topics such as graphs and dual problems.
Next time, I will present on Chapter 9, “Numerical Linear Algebra.”
