７月１９日に今学期最後の学生ゼミが開催されました。

最終回は坂番から第４章線形識別モデル後半の発表を行いました。

ゼミの最後には今学期のゼミを振り返っての感想を一人一人が発表しました。PRFLの難解さを挙げる声に加えて一人で読み進めるのは難しいからこそゼミで質問や議論を通して一人では得られない学びを得ることができた，との声も多くありました。発表準備も読み進めるのも大変な三ヶ月でしたがこの本を選んでよかったと思います。

秋学期からは各メンバーの研究発表が主になります。みなさんの研究についてお聞きできるのが楽しみです。

The last student seminar of the semester was held on 19 July.

In the final session, Sakaban gave a presentation on the second half of Chapter 4, Linear Discrimination Models.

At the end of the seminar, each student gave his or her impressions of this semester’s seminar: in addition to the difficulty of PRFL, many students said that it was difficult to read the book by themselves and that they were able to learn through questions and discussions in the seminar that they could not have gained on their own. It was a tough three months preparing for the presentation and reading the book, but I am glad I chose this book.

From the autumn term, the main focus will be on each member’s research presentation． I look forward to hearing about their research.

7/7（日）の七夕に合わせて、地域/情報研究室にある笹を土木設計演習室に設置し、社会基盤学科・専攻の方々に願い事を書いていただきました！
授業が無事終わるように、提出期限切れのレポートを受け取ってもらえるように、論文を書き終われるように、その他部活や健康の話など多岐にわたる願い事を書いて頂きました！！
暑い日が続きますが、社会基盤の皆様一同元気に過ごしていきましょう！皆さんの願い事が叶いますように！

On the occasion of Tanabata Festival on 7/7 (Sun), we set up a bamboo branch in the Regional Planning and Information Lab in the design studio and asked students from the Department of Civil Engineering to write their wishes on it! They wrote wishes for the successful completion of their classes, for the receipt of overdue reports, for the completion of their theses, and for a wide range of other things, such as club activities and health!
The hot weather is continuing but let us all at the Department of Civil Engineering be in good spirits! May your wishes come true!

本日、第8回学生ゼミが開催されました！先々週までは回帰に関する話題でしたが、今週からは分類に関する話題について扱います！

今週はB4の笹木くんから第4章線型識別モデルの前半の発表がありました。識別関数を用いる手法と条件付き確率分布をモデル化する2通りの手法についての発表でした！
質問では、フィッシャーの線型判別と最小二乗との関係やパーセプトロン、活性化関数に関する話が出ました！

来週で夏学期の学生ゼミも最終回です！来週は坂番さんの発表です。最後まで頑張りましょう！！

Today, the 8th student seminar was held! We discussed regression until last time, but we are focusing on discriminant analysis from this week!

Today, Sasaki-kun, a B4 student, presented on the linear discriminant model in chapter 4. 
During the question time, we talked about the relationship between Fisher’s linear discriminant and the least squares method, the perceptron and activation functions!

Next week is the last student seminar of the summer semester! In the next week, Sakaban-san will present next week. Let’s keep going until the end!!

昨日、7月5日に地域/情報研究室で第7回学生ゼミ後、たこ焼きパーティーを開催しました！
M1の下田くんが家から持ってきてくれたものと今回のために新しく共益費で購入したものの2台体制で作りました！
ほとんどの人がたこ焼きを焼くのが未経験でしたが、下田くんが主導してくれたおかげで、みんなで具材を入れたり、クルクル回したりして美味しく作れました！
僕もたこ焼きを回すのは初めてで結構苦戦しました…　下田くんは上手かったです！！

途中からは、昨年まで所属していた邱さんや関西人の血が騒いだ安田先生も参加して回してくれました！
秘書の石田さんも様子を覗きに来てくれ、「大学生らしくて良い！」と褒めていただきました！

他の研究室の学生や卒業された方も来られて、総勢何名か分からないくらいになりました。また開催したいと思います！
加えて、もし他の研究室でイベントが開催される際には、たこ焼き器を貸しますので、ぜひ地域/情報研究室にも声を掛けてください！！よろしくお願いしま～す！

Yesterday, July 5, we held a takoyaki party in the Regional Planning and Information Lab!
We made takoyaki with two machines, one brought from home by M1 student Shimoda-kun and the other newly purchased for this time!
Most of us had never made takoyaki before, but thanks to Shimoda-kun’s leadership, we were able to make it delicious!
It was my first time to spin a takoyaki, and I struggled a lot…　Shimoda-kun was very good at it!

From the middle of the party, Qiu-san, who had belonged to the group until last year, Yasuda-sensei, who is from Kansai Area, and Ishida-san , who is this lab’s secretary, joined us!
Students and graduates from other labs also came, and we were not sure how many people we had in total. We would like to hold this event again!
In addition, if other labs hold events, we will lend them takoyaki machine, so please give the Regional Planning and Information Lab a call!

第７回学生ゼミが開催されました．

今回は実装会ということで，DockerやGitHubなど研究の実装を行う際によく使うツールの紹介，およびそれらを用いた実装を行いました．

今回は学生ゼミで扱っているパターン認識と機械学習で扱っているベイズ線形回帰の実装を行い，環境構築の大変さを実感できたのではないかと思います．

残る学生ゼミも今学期は2回ということで，一同気を引き締めていきたいと思います！

The 7th student seminar was held.

In this seminar, we introduced tools often used for research implementation, such as Docker and GitHub, and implemented them.

This time, we implemented pattern recognition and Bayesian linear regression, which are two topics of the student seminar, and I think the students were able to realize how difficult it is to build an environment.

We will have only two student seminars remaining this semester, so we will all keep our spirits up!
