11/28（金）の学生ゼミでは、M1の武田君と臼杵君から、最近参加した学会での発表内容等についての報告がありました。

武田君は、11月20日（木）・21日（金）に山形市で開催された「日本写真測量学会令和7年度秋季学術講演会」に参加しました。その時の発表内容で、特に卒業論文から新たに結果を改善した点について、詳しい発表がありました。また、学会中のほかのセッションで興味深かった発表や、手法に使われているものでトレンドに感じたモデル、山形市で訪れた場所や食べたものなど、さまざまな体験をしてきたことを共有してくださりました。

臼杵君は、11月18日（火）から11月21日（金）までオーストラリアのゴールドコーストで開催された「IEEE ITSC 2025」に参加しました。他のセッションで印象に残った発表の内容や、welcome receptionやお食事会で体験した現地の方々によるダンスショー、会場で仲良くなった方についてのお話を共有してくださりました。特に大規模言語モデル（LLM）を用いた手法や、Albert Guら[1]が提案した「Mamba」と呼ばれる手法を用いた発表が多くあり、深層学習分野における最先端の研究動向を肌で感じてきたみたいです。このような最先端の研究に触れられることが、学会参加の良さであるなと感じました。

二人とも、学会を通して感じた近年多く使われている深層学習モデルの動向や現地で様々な体験をしてきたことを共有してくださり、普段の学生ゼミとは違った有意義な時間となりました。

On Friday, November 28, at the student seminar, M1 student Mr.Takeda and Mr.Usuki gave presentations about reports of each academic conference they recently attended.

Mr. Takeda attended the “2026 Autumn Conference of Japan Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing”, held in Yamagata City on November 20-21. He explained in detail the improvements he made to his graduation research results, which he also presented at the conference. He also shared various experiences from the events, including interesting presentations from other sessions, recent trend deep learning models, as well as places he visited and food he ate in Yamagata.

Mr. Usuki participated in “IEEE ITSC 2025”, held in Gold Coast, Australia, from November 18 to 21. He explained about presentations that he was strongly impressed by, as well as his experiences at the welcome reception and dinner party, where he saw local dance performances. He also talked about peopole he became acquainted with at the venue. In particular, he mentioned that many presentations used Large Language Models(LLM) or “Mamba”, a method proposed by Albert Gu et al.[1], allowing him to directly experience the cutting-edge research trends in deep learning. I felt that being exposed to such state-of-the-art research is one of the great benefits of attending academic conferences.

Both students shared their insights on recent trends in deep learning models and the various experiences they gained during their conference participation, making this seminar a meaningful and enriching time quite different from our usual sessions.

11/14(金)の学生セミナーでは、B4井野さんとM2坂番さんから研究の進捗報告がありました。

井野さんからは「衛星画像と地上データのクロスモーダル対照学習を用いた土地利用推定」と題して、手法のアーキテクチャや使用するデータの種類についての発表がありました。対象地域の範囲や使用するポイントデータの種類、そしてポイントデータを学習させる意義を中心に議論が行われました。

坂番さんからは「衛星画像における複合ドメインシフト下での、汎用的なドメイン適応手法の構築」と題して、研究背景の整理と具体的な提案手法についての発表がありました。3種類のドメインシフトがそれぞれどのような事柄を表しているのか、単一のドメインシフトのみを考慮した既往研究のどこが課題なのかという点を中心に議論が行われました。

On Friday, November 14, at the student seminar, B4 student Ino-san and M2 student Sakaban-san gave progress reports on their research.

Ino-san gave a presentation titled “Land-use estimation using cross-modal contrastive learning with satellite imagery and ground-level data,” in which he explained the architecture of the method and the types of data used. The discussion mainly focused on the spatial extent of the study area, the types of point data to be used, and the significance of training the model on point data.

Sakaban-san gave a presentation titled “Developing a general-purpose domain adaptation method under compound domain shifts in satellite imagery,” covering both the research background and the specific proposed method. Discussion centered on what each of the three types of domain shift represents, and on the limitations of previous studies that consider only a single type of domain shift.

11/7(金)の第2回学生セミナーでは、M2嶋野さんとB4中尾さんから研究の進捗報告がありました。

嶋野さんからは「浅水域における特徴点非依存な水中写真測量手法の構築」と題して、既存の3次元復元手法を改良した手法に関しての発表がありました。質疑では、モデルの改良方法について議論が行われました。

中尾くんからは「モバイルデバイスLiDARによる3次元点群データの高精細化とタスク性能評価」と題して、モバイルデバイスLiDARによる3次元点群データの補完と高精度化についての発表がありました。質疑では、学習時間を短くするための手法や、実験に使用するデータセットについての議論が行われました。

The 2nd Students Seminar was held on November 7th. Shimano-san (M2) and Nakao-san (B4) presented their progress.

Mr. Shimano gave a presentation titled “Development of a Feature-Independent Underwater Photogrammetric Method for Shallow Water Areas,” in which he introduced an improved approach based on an existing 3D reconstruction method. During the Q&A session, discussions were held on the methods for improving the model.

Nakao-san gave a presentation titled “Enhancement of 3D Point Cloud Data Acquired by Mobile-Device LiDAR and Evaluation of Task Performance,” in which he presented his work on completion and accuracy enhancement of 3D point cloud data obtained from mobile-device LiDAR. During the Q&A session, discussions were held on methods to reduce training time and on the datasets used for the experiments.

10/31(金)の第１回学生セミナーでは、M2下田さんとB4上野くんから研究の進捗報告がありました。

下田さんからは「異分解能画像を統合した地図更新手法の開発」と題して、機械学習のモデルの構造などに関して発表がありました。質疑では、データの取得や訓練の方法を中心に議論が行われました。

上野くんからは「地籍調査に対する土地白書と整備データに基づく進捗率への影響分析」と題して、土地白書のトピック分析の現状について発表がありました。質疑では、分析手法や着目する変数の選定に関して議論が行われました。

The 1st Students Seminar was held on Oct 31. Shimoda-san (M2) and Ueno-san(B4) presented their progress.

Shimoda-san’s presentation, titled “Propose a Map Update Model Integrating Multi-Resolution Images”, was mainly about the structure of machine learning models. The Q&A session focused on data acquisition and training methods.

Ueno-san presented on the current status of topic analysis in the Land White Paper, titled “An Influence Analysis for the Progress Rate of Cadastral Survey in Japan based on an Analysis of White Paper for Land and Progress Rate Data.” During the Q&A session, discussions focused on the analytical methods and the selection of variables to be examined.

10/24(金)に，Aセメスター初めての学生ゼミが開催されました．M2嶋野さんから学位論文執筆のスケジュールや注意事項，そして論文を書くにあたって必要になるTexの使い方について説明していただきました．
Aセメスターが始まり，いよいよ論文提出までの残り時間が少なくなってきたな，と改めて実感しました…
限られた時間の中で少しでも質の高い研究が行えるよう努力していこうと思います！

On October 24th (Fri), the first student seminar in A semester was held! In the seminar, Shimano-san (M2) explained the schedule of the submission of the thesis, and how to utilize Tex.
This seminar made me think that I will make much effort to write good thesis though we don’t have much time!
